ARCHITECTURAL AND URBAN PLANNING CONCEPT OF DEVELOPMENT AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE PLOT
Frunzenskaya embankment, Moscow

2019 - 2022

The residential complex is being designed on the site of a former building exhibition. At present, the main pavilion (1st Frunzenskaya St. 30A, architect S. V. Lyashchenko, Vesnin workshop) has been preserved from the original exhibition complex, recognized as an object of cultural heritage and subject to restoration. The remaining pavilions of the exhibition are partly lost, partly heavily rebuilt. The main idea of the residential complex is the reconstruction of the three-dimensional composition using individual details as of 1936.
On the site of the lost two-story pavilions, five-story two-section residential buildings are being designed - a total of seven buildings (the site of the eighth lost pavilion is outside the allotted territory) The buildings are connected by passages along the level of the second floor, as it was in 1936. Apartments with autonomous entrances from the street are being designed in the passages. The facades of the 1st and 2nd floors contrast with the overlying ones and from the side of the inner square are reproduced very close to the lost original.
In addition to a group of five-story buildings in the southeastern part of the allotted territory, a six-section 10-13-story building is being designed, U-shaped in plan, oriented in the coordinates of the development of the Frunzenskaya embankment and stylistically in harmony with the Stalinist architecture of the 40-50s .
In the complex, a single underground one-level parking lot is designed. All residential buildings, including self-contained apartments in the passages, are connected to the parking lot by elevators. The parking capacity was designed to exceed the needs of the residential complex due to the shortage of parking spaces in the existing block. It is planned to sell or lease parking spaces to residents of neighboring houses, for which additional entrances independent from the designed residential buildings are provided for the parking lot. In total, the parking lot has three entrances and exits (six ramps).
