CLUB RESIDENTIAL HOUSE "AELITA"

    The choice of the style of the house was influenced by the Museum of Cosmonautics located in the immediate vicinity, built in the late 60s by architect Boris Grigoryevich Barkhin. The architecture of the museum became an analogue of the best examples of Soviet modernism, perfectly blended into the historical city and is still a bright landmark of the city of Kaluga.
  Soviet modernism originates from the avant-garde of the 1920s. At that time, not only architecture, but also painting, theater, cinema and literature were captured by this trend... Fantasy and the space theme were picked up by theater and film artists. A real masterpiece was the film "Aelita" based on the novel by Alexei Nikolaevich Tolstoy, and he, in turn, was inspired by the essays "The study of world spaces with jet devices" by K. E. Tsiolkovsky. Thanks to the talent of director Yakov Protazanov and artist Alexandra Exter, the film has become a world masterpiece of cinematography.
    Aelita is the queen of Mars, she is an amazing fantastic character with quite earthly feelings, and it was not by chance that I named the house after this hero... Because in an architectural image there should be a fantasy, a place, along with the utility of human needs.
